Roommates
2015
Acrylic on canvas, Motors, Aluminum rods, Electronic components, Glass, and Wood

Description: These are the portrait of my roommates and the opaque glass in front which is linked through motors, motor machines pulls and pushes glasses. The glass barrier acts as a play between the blurring and revealing of their faces and also simultaneously the distancing that happens.

A brief statement: These are the casual faces that we encounter in our day-to-day lives. They exist on the peripheries, usually at a distance, and remain almost indifferent to us. The blurred faces that occasionally become visible remain significant only till the time they are in sight and then go on to lose importance soon after in our lives. These faces could be anyone’s.
